In my seven years as a curator of education, one of the most amazing perks has been getting to know the animals that call the Los Angeles Zoo home and the people who work every day to make this place so special. Those connections have afforded me a window into a modern zoo and conservation world I didn’t know existed.

Through our daily education programs, visitors can connect to our animals, keepers, and education specialists on a deeper level.

When we set out to grow the guest experience here at the Zoo, our goal was to open those windows of understanding for as many people as possible. Through our daily education programs, visitors can connect to our animals, keepers, and education specialists on a deeper level.

This summer, in addition to guest favorites like the Elephant Care Demonstrations, Otter Talks, and Chimp Chats, we’re adding in some new offerings, including Animal Adventures in the Winnick Family Children’s Zoo Adventure Theater (a variety of animal presentations that encourage learning through observation) and an Exploration Station in the Aviary that will introduce guests to the resident birds as well as some of the basics of birdwatching. Connecting visitors with the amazing work the Zoo does every single day in caring for not only the animals here, but also conserving their wild counterparts, is what our programs are all about. We look forward to continuing to share our world with you!
