You’ll have a chance to feed these charismatic birds, learn about their care, and discover how flamingos groom themselves and each other. They may even groom you! This magical animal encounter will turn your friends pink with envy.

Cost is $25 in addition to Zoo admission or GLAZA membership. Available daily (except the second and fourth Wednesday of the month) at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. Maximum six guests per encounter. Minimum age is 2 years. Advance online ticket purchase is strongly recommended.

  • Before participating, guests must sign a form verifying that they have not been in recent contact with chickens.
  • Tickets will be on sale online and at the box office until 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. After that, they will be available for purchase at the flamingo exhibit, if free spots remain.

To help us provide an excellent standard of animal care at the Los Angeles Zoo, and due to the presence of Virulent Newcastle Disease in Southern California, you may not participate in the Flamingo Mingle if you keep chickens, have recently interacted with chickens, or are wearing shoes or clothing that have been in contact with chickens. All Flamingo Mingle guests must use a footbath prior to entering the flamingo enclosure, so be sure to wear appropriate shoes.
